Anti-Spam & Deliverability Policy
Our ethical guidelines and compliance framework matching industry standards (RFC 8058, Gmail & Yahoo 2024+ Standards).
1. Definition of Spam
Spam is defined as any commercial or informational email sent to an individual without their prior, explicit, and verifiable consent. Sending unsolicited emails damages sender IP reputation and harms legitimate creators across the network.
2. Strictly Prohibited Practices
- Purchasing, renting, or trading third-party email lists.
- Scraping or harvesting email addresses from websites, social media, or public directories.
- Sending to lists inactive for more than 12 months without prior re-engagement verification.
- Using misleading headers, deceptive sender names, or falsified subject lines.
- Hiding, obscuring, or disabling the mandatory one-click unsubscribe mechanism.
3. Technical Requirements
Every custom sending domain must configure valid SPF and DKIM records alongside an explicit DMARC policy.
MailCheap automatically includes the standard List-Unsubscribe: <https://...>, <mailto:...> header so Gmail and Apple Mail recipients can safely unsubscribe with one click directly in their client.
4. Tolerance Thresholds & Account Safeguards
MailCheap continuously monitors mailbox provider feedback loops. If any campaign breaches critical safety metrics, sending is paused for review:
- Spam complaint rate: must stay strictly below 0.10% (1 complaint per 1,000 sent emails). Reaching 0.30% triggers immediate restriction.
- Hard bounce rate: must remain under 3.0%. High bounce rates indicate stale or unverified contact data.
5. Abuse Reporting
If you received an unsolicited message originating from an account on MailCheap, please forward the full message with headers to: newsletter@mailcheap.email. All reports are investigated within 24 hours.
